Ashanti Shequoiya, who was born Douglas, is popularly known Ashanti. Ashanti was birthed 13 October 1980, in Glen Cove New York United States. She is an American singer-songwriter and actor. Ashanti began her career as a teenager, then was eventually signed to Murder Inc. Records by 2002. That same year, she also featured on Fat Joe's What's Luv? track and Ja Rule's Always on Time track. Both of them were huge hits. First ever female to reach the Billboard Hot 100's highest two spots within the United States, with Foolish on number one and What's Luv? The track What's Luv! We can celebrate this special day with us. Ashanti Shequoiya was popularly called Ashanti and was born on the 13th of October, 1980 located in Glen Cove New York. Tina Douglas, her mother was a former teacher of dance. Ken-Kaide Douglas is her father. The Kenashia Shai Douglas family is their younger sister. She is the oldest of them all. Douglas named Ashanti Shia Douglas after the Ashanti Empire from Ghana in which women ruled the roost and were highly influential. Douglas wanted Ashantis to adopt this model. Ashanti has released her debut album, titled "Ashanti" in 2002 under Irv Getti's Murder Inc. Record Label. The Declaration is the fourth Ashanti studio album. The album was released through Murder Inc. on the 3rd of June, 2008. Hey Baby, After the Club (released both on radio as well as digital format) was released on October 16 in 2008. She played Latasha In Army Wives and starred in the movie Christmas in the City. Aitch sampled Rock wit U in his Baby 10th March 2022 song.
